Analysis of Intelligent Transportation Systems Using Model-Driven Simulations

This publication introduces a development framework based on Model-Driven Development for traffic simulations on Intelligent Transport Systems. In addition a network of sensors and actuators are placed in order to provide information to this framework, and a set of process guidelines are produced to give support to users. This infrastructure is validated through a case study in which different cameras and sensors are inserted into specific traffic lights.

An Integrative Modelling Language for Agent-Based Simulation of Traffic

This publication uses a development framework based on road traffic to carry out simulations in existing traffic platforms. This framework consists of a Modelling Language focused on modelling agents, a Graphical Editor that allows producing model specifications and a Code Generator to transform these specifications into source code. The latter allows specializing the code produced according to the requirements of target traffic simulation platform. The case study shows the feasibility of the proposal using the platform called Simulation of Urban Mobility (SUMO).

Simulation of Road Traffic Applying Model Driven Engineering

This publication makes a collection of the functionalities present in the development framework proposed earlier. The Modeling Language in charge of considering the behavioral characteristics of individuals involved in road traffic and its properties are comprehensively shown. The enhancements in the supporting tools consisting of Graphic Editor and Code Generator are also illustrated. Moreover, it is included a complete development process divided into multiple steps. The case study shows the viability of the new proposal using the platform Multi-Agent Traffic Simulation (MATSim).
